Ken grew up on Hessle Road, leaving after he was married. He roller skated at Madeley Street Baths and visited HU3 institutions like Rayners and Dee Street Club – a time the area was booming. He went to school with performer Rena Jordan and just to watch her perform alongside others in the pubs and clubs of HU3.
