Gary Cusworth aka Twaddles, full drag name was “Twaddles – fond of cocks”. He was a well known and much loved character and performer on the Scene in West Hull. His humour, sense of fun and love of dragging up were things of legend. Through the mid to late 80s he performed alongside Mizz Gavina Edwards in both The Vauxhall Dragettes and The GiGi Girls.
Gary sadly died in 2020. These photographs of him are taken by people in this archive.
Twads loved to dress up, he would wear drag to court – which he did. He didn’t care what people thought. Once he walked the length of Hessle Road in Drag and everyone wooped and called – they loved it, he loved it! Mizz Gavina Edwards
