Frank grew up on Hessle Road and went to sea as a teenager. Hessle Road was also a place where he shopped for clothes and dress up fancy in “fisherman’s suits”. It was here he also swapped a Norwegian jumper for a bottle of vodka, stayed for lock-ins and got caught up in police raids! Frank remembers going to many different pubs and clubs including the Pink Flamingo where there were regular drag shows.
