Margaret Green grew up on Harrow Street surrounded by her family. Her mother worked in a crab house and her father was a ‘Bobber’on the docks before becoming a watch mender. She was the full time barmaid at Dee St Club for 25 years from 1981. She loved to make people laugh, and entertain while working in the club and would regularly dress up for Christmas and New Year events. Twaddles the performer was a regular in the club and also Margarets friend.
Bill and Margaret met when they were both poorly in Del la Pole hospital. Bill worked on the docks. He managed and called Bingo in Dee St Club. Bill continues to give Margaret the “more” she wants!
