Colin is a veteran of Hull’s historic Hessle Road fishing community. He built a dedicated career at sea, starting out in local fishing and eventually earning his skipper’s ticket. As the fishing industry declined in the 1980s, Colin adapted by working on inshore boats in Scarborough and navigating international waters with Spanish crews off Ireland, before concluding his career on oil rig standby boats. All before retiring at age 67.
