Steve was the Dee St Club compere and guitarist between 1991 – 2000.
He was born on Bean St [HU3] and wanted to be a musician from the age of 7.
In his role as Guitarist in the Dee St Club band he accompanied performing acts and artists and also entertained customers. Bryan Rudd was the Bassist and Darren Walster keyboardist, replaced by John Ancaster. John Stuff [“Durango”] was on drums.
Margaret Green [also recorded ] was the bar manager during this time.
Steve set up the Spectacles Shop on Hessle Road while working at Dee St. He used his earnings as a buffer as his business got established.
