Dave Whatt was a Silhouette regular along with other archive contributors such as Andy Roe. Silhouette albeit a new club echoed traditional social clubs on Hessle Road – think of the flock wallpaper and also like those spaces offered a variety of entertainment including drag. Dave has shared a selection of his photographs of the clubs alternative drag events such Miss Winter Wonderland (1986) and Miss Beach Bag (1985). Both were legendary competitions with distinct costumes, make up and performances just like ‘Old Skool’ drag.
