The Broadway Belles were first and foremost a duo made up of Tony Beaumont and John Street. Depending on the booking they also adapted into a trio with the addition of Lee Jackson. All performers originated from Hull and some were from the Docklands/ HU3 area.
Tony Ward photographed them in the late 1980s and it is his photographs that inspired the start of this project.
A series of promotional cards for them are also in Ray Millington’s collection. He often booked them for performances at St. George’s when he was the landlord there.
We are currently trying to connect to the individuals to record their histories.
